I am currently working on a line of holiday cards this month. Starting with a quick sketch, then refining the illustration and finally adding some watercolor to ring in the holiday cheer.

Recently, I discovered the beauty in my messy handwriting. I've always loved typography and enjoyed pairing different typefaces together, but never using my own handwriting until last weekend.
Using your own hand-lettering adds character and even though the letters aren't perfect, (like I would like them to) I embrace its uniqueness.
Desiree Perez is a freelance designer & illustrator from Brawley, currently living and working in San Diego, California, where she recently earned her Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design from The Art Institute of California - San Diego.
With a fascination for vintage design and unique typography, she tries to incorporate the two in every design project. Through her personal and professional work, her passion for minimalist rendering, textures, typography, antiquities, and subdued color are all found.
